Our Story
In 1999, a team of software engineers from Cornell worked on a small project to build a collaboration and support software product that could be used to effectively support customers coming to their website. With limited resources to provide actual over-the-phone customer service, the online support product had to be self-sustaining, capturing complaints and feedback while the team focused on their core business. Once the first version of the support product was completed, they realized that many other companies faced a similar a problem and could license their technology. Recognizing the high demand for sophisticated, yet easy-to-use online support technologies, Parature Inc. was officially formed in July 2000 with a vision to transform the Internet into a powerful environment for supporting end users. The team was also quick to recognize the ability to use the internet to deliver these applications economically to companies in need. As one of a handful of companies that pioneered the delivery of software over the Internet, Parature clients could begin accessing these applications with their standard browsers on a monthly subscription basis.
