The design for the Bid4Build Estimating Application was originally developed over 15 years ago as a result of extensive input from multiple General Contractors.   The original estimating application was built using a DOS-based database, Paradox 3.5.   Our original customers were running the first-generation application successfully for many years.   Over time, we added significant functional improvements. 

In 2002, we rewrote the entire application using the Microsoft Access® Development Environment.  Microsoft Access® is the leading small business database platform on the market, and provides the greatest degree of functional flexibility and stability.   The Bid4Build application requires the commercial version of Microsoft Access® (2000, 2002, or 2003), or the FREE Runtime version of Microsoft Access® 2000 to operate.  You can obtain the free Runtime version of Microsoft Access® 2000 directly from our website.

Our most recent version of the Bid4Build Construction Estimating System is version 3.0.  Bid4Build version 3.0 incorporates some the most advanced features of Microsoft Access including large information storage for database information including Customer, Project and Supplier information.  Version 3.0 also includes such features as Job Scheduling, Job Tracking, Job Costing, Invoicing, Digital Photo Library, Contract Writer, Construction Calculators, and many other features, functions and enhancements.
