In 1994 a benefits administration expert and two former Microsoft employees founded Ascentis and created the company’s flagship HRMS software - HROffice. Today, the HROffice product line automates HR and benefits processes for small and mid-sized organizations nationwide.
Management Team
David Snodgrass, Chairman, founded Ascentis with his wife Jody Snodgrass and Dwight Matheny in 1994. Snodgrass has an extensive background in employee benefits and has built a successful benefits administration business. He has worked with hundreds of employers and benefits consultants on HR and benefits administration issues over the past 20 years.
Gerald Swanson, Vice Chairman, is the retired former vice chairman of global aviation for Marsh Inc. and served on the Marsh Inc. Board of Directors. Swanson has worked in many different brokerage and insurance company management positions. He was with the combined Marsh Inc. Group for 30 years during which he filled several executive positions including management of the Pacific Region, Western Region, and Global Aviation.
Charles D'Ambrosia, CEO, joined Ascentis in late 1997 as its chief executive officer. D’Ambrosia is an experienced "high tech" CEO and has been instrumental in the development of two successful software and hardware companies in the Seattle area. He has broad experience in sales and marketing as well as executive management experience.
Dwight Matheny, Vice President, Development, has been with Ascentis since the beginning and continues to spearhead the development team. He has responsibility for the product development and direction of HROffice. Prior to Ascentis, Matheny spent six years working for Microsoft Corporation. He was involved in the design, development and marketing of numerous successful software applications and operating system products. Matheny left Microsoft as a product manager for Microsoft Windows. In this position, Matheny had overall responsibility for Microsoft’s systems development tools.
Mike Hayes, Vice President Sales and Marketing, joined Ascentis in March 2002 as an experienced software sales and marketing vice president. Hayes brought with him 20 years of global experience in high-growth, start-up, turn-around, and established companies in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Prior to joining Ascentis, Hayes was the CEO of URreal, a hi-tech start-up specializing in real-time collaboration solutions. Before URreal, Hayes served as the vice president of marketing at Sequel Technology and has worked for Oracle, SPC and Uniplex Technologies in a variety of sales and marketing roles.
Jody Snodgrass, Advisor and Director of Ascentis, founded Ascentis with her husband David Snodgrass and Dwight Matheny in 1994. Prior to Ascentis, Snodgrass was involved in the design, development and marketing of numerous successful software applications and operating systems products while at Microsoft. She served as group program manager for the Windows 3.0 development team.
