PeopleCube Releases New Version of WebEvent Latest Release of the Popular WebEvent Event Calendar Solution Complies with New Daylight Saving Time Standards
WALTHAM, MA - March 1 - PeopleCube, the leader in calendaring, scheduling and process management solutions, today announced the latest release of WebEvent, the popular on-line event scheduling and calendaring solution. Available as an on-demand or on-premise application, this new version contains the necessary updates to comply with the revised dates of Daylight Saving Time (DST) as mandated by the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005. As a result of this release, any events scheduled in WebEvent during the extended DST period will appear at the correct time regardless of the time zone that the user is located in.
In an effort to conserve energy, the United States Congress passed the Energy Policy Act in 2005 which mandated that Daylight Saving Time be extended by four weeks beginning in March of 2007. As such, this new version of WebEvent features the necessary enhancements to conform to the new dates of Daylight Saving Time. As a result, all events scheduled in WebEvent during the extended DST dates will be automatically adjusted to the correct time, thus eliminating any event scheduling confusion or loss in productivity.
"WebEvent is used by thousands of schools, universities and businesses as the primary means of communicating important event information to parents, students and employees," said Ann Hamann, vice president of Marketing at PeopleCube. Because WebEvent is used to let people know what events are happening when, it is critical that these events are scheduled at the correct time. We aggressively addressed the changes in Daylight Saving Time to ensure that our WebEvent customers experience little or no disruption to their event calendars during this DST transition. By issuing this release now, our customers can feel confident that any events scheduled during this DST extension will not be compromised."
