Cincom Selects Boston Software Systems' Boston WorkStation to Improve the Accuracy of Patient Registration and Insurance Claims Remittance Processes
Automates Communication Between Cincom's Intelligent Guided Registration (IGR) Solution and Any Health Information System to Ensure Compliance

BOSTON, MA - January 17, 2006 -- Boston Software Systems(TM), the leader in workflow automation technology to the healthcare market, today announced a partnership with Cincom Systems. Under the agreement, Cincom will use Boston Software Systems' technology, Boston WorkStation (BWS), with its Intelligent Guided Registration (IGR) solution to enhance real-time decision support for registrars, improve compliance to payer and regulatory rules, and reduce errors that cause insurance payment denials or delays.
 
Cincom's IGR runs alongside any healthcare provider's existing registration system, offering dynamic assistance to the registrar in selecting and ordering the correct insurance plan(s) within a health information system (HIS), such as MEDITECH or McKesson. Registrars are guided through a series of questions to be asked of the patient regarding insurance coverage. As information is entered, IGR offers real-time decision support ensuring adherence to specific rules attributed to different payers. Using IGR, registrars will not need to rely on multiple resources for all of the details and unique variations they regularly encounter, such as Medicare Secondary Payer or coordination of benefits questions.

As a universal integration tool, BWS provides integration between Cincom's IGR and an HIS. BWS detects where the cursor is on the screen and alerts the system to enable IGR when the registrar has moved into the insurance code fields in the registration process. BWS passes information from the registration screens to IGR, enabling it to present unique benefit information to the registrar.
