CORESense Customer The SAK Named Finalist for Retail Systems Achievement Award
America's 4th Largest Handbag Company Recognized for Multi-Channel Innovation

SARATOGA SPRINGS , NEW YORK , April 22, 2005 - CORESense, a leading provider of on-demand retail management software, today announced that customer The SAK, America’s fourth largest handbag company, has been chosen as one of three finalists of the 2005 Retail Systems Achievement Award for Best in Multi-Channel Innovation.

THE SAK has been selling handbags with its unique fabrication, known as Tightweave, since 1989. Today the company’s products are sold at 1,900 department and specialty stores throughout the United States and in 22 international markets.

The SAK was selected as a finalist for their implementation of the CORESense retail management system. The SAK selected CORESense to automate and manage their entire retail process, from product catalog and inventory management to order fulfillment, customer service visibility (CRM) and promotions.

The system’s flexibility included enhanced image display on the website and the ability to execute new promotions quickly. The ability to quickly implement any new functionality, such as picture zoom or picture roll-over, was critical to the proper display of their product and now possible through the system’s dynamic, scalable matrix architecture. Through this innovative architecture The SAK could now get products up and selling through an EDI, a large area of growth for their business, in hours rather than the days that it previously took.

Since implementing CORESense return rate on ecommerce and EDI transactions dropped from 19% to 15%. The system also contributed to the company’s ability to maintain prior staffing levels even with sales more than doubling from about $300,000 in 2003 to almost $1 million in 2004.
