iQmetrix President & CEO wins BDC Young Entrepreneur of the year Award
October 1, 2000 - Chris Krywulak, President and CEO of jump.ca Wireless Supply Corp. and iQmetrix Software Development Corp. has been awarded a Young Entrepreneur Award by the Business Development Bank of Canada. Every year since 1988, BDC has honoured outstanding entrepreneurs representing each province and territory. The 13 winners receive public recognition and are chosen by a panel of judges from the business world including successful entrepreneurs, members of local Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce, representatives from the Export Development Corporation and BDC. In 1994, the Bank added a new dimension to the Awards by creating the Young Entrepreneurs Mentor Program. This initiative matches award winners with prominent business leaders who act as mentors for one year, sharing knowledge, experience and insight. Mr. Krywulak was introduced to his mentor, Normand Legault President of the Fomula One Grand Prix, while spending 3 informative and rewarding days in Ottawa. And, along with the other 12 YEA winners, Mr. Krywulak was invited to meet Prime Minister Jean Chretien on Parliament Hill. "The year 2000 marks a monumental year for young entrepreneurs. It is not only the beginning of a new millennium, but is also the beginning of the new economy - an economy where for the first time ever agility is more important then power. In other words, the fast will beat the slow. My mentor Normond Legault knows how this works," commented Mr. Krywulak while accepting his award. The Awards were presented at the national launch of Small Business Week, on October 17, 2000 in Ottawa.
