| PLEASANTON, Calif. – January 25, 2005 – Steelwedge Software Inc., the leading innovator in the emerging field of Enterprise Planning & Performance Management (EPPM), today announced the appointment of Chris Whitted to the position of Vice President of Sales. Whitted brings to Steelwedge extensive sales and operations management experience in the software and services industry. Whitted will direct the Steelwedge sales force as the company responds to growing demand for Enterprise planning software among manufacturing organizations.
The Steelwedge EPPM solution enables companies to leverage existing enterprise infrastructure and create an Enterprise Plan of Record (EPoR) to vastly improve demand planning, new product introductions, sales & operations planning and revenue and margin planning. Additionally, the EPoR enables organizations to create performance scorecards and dashboards.
A proven business planning tool for discrete and complex manufacturers, including telecommunications and network equipment suppliers, high-tech manufacturers, and medical equipment providers, Steelwedge EPPM enables manufacturers to lower inventory costs, improve order fulfillment performance, reduce order-to-delivery times, and eliminate lost sales; resulting in profitable growth, increased customer satisfaction, improved productivity, and successful new product introductions.
“More global organizations are recognizing the need for enterprise planning and performance management to drive down costs, increase revenue and to better match demand with supply,” said Timothy Campbell, Steelwedge president and CEO. “Chris's proven sales success, operations expertise, and knowledge of Global 2000 companies will help Steelwedge to serve the rapidly expanding market for enterprise planning and performance management software and services”
“I've been watching Steelwedge for a couple of years and am very impressed with the recent surge in momentum”, said Whitted. “During the last four months, the company closed a Global 500 customer with a multi-site deployment and saw its pipeline increase twofold, hired a very experienced CEO and raised a new round of equity. I look forward to working closely with the sales team to drive revenue growth for the company”.
Whitted has 17 years of sales and operations management experience at enterprise software and services organizations, most recently as president of LaunchProject, a sales and marketing services organization. Prior to that, he was director of sales at Impresse, a collaboration and e-commerce solutions provider for the printing industry.
Earlier, as general manager for Reef, a content management software startup, Whitted built the North American sales organization and secured the first market validating corporate customers. As vice president of sales at IPC Communications, Whitted led supply chain initiatives for leading software and PC-OEM companies, growing revenues by more than $25 million. Whitted holds a B.S. in Production Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
